There is something solid about the number 68. It was the year when the Anno Domini calendar became the prevalent method in Europe and soon the world for naming years. It was the year Nero was ousted as Emperor of Rome. It was also the year Buddhism arrived in China. 68 is considered in mathematics to be a happy number, where  you replace the number by the sum of the squares of its digits, and repeat the process until the number equals 1 (where it will stay), or it loops endlessly in a cycle which does not include 1. Students of history might know that the year fifty-one was the Year of the Consulship of Caesar and Scipio, or better yet, the year when the Anno Domini (AD) calendar became the prevalent method in Europe for naming years. 51 was the beginning of what became a standard we use to this day, 2012.
